Men’s liposuction helps patients with undesirable pockets of fat that are resistant to diet and exercise. Dr. Lee uses the ultrasonic technique which allows for safer removal of larger amounts of fat than with standard liposuction. The ultrasound helps to liquefy fat leading to reduced movement of the wand while it is underneath the skin. This typically leads to less bruising and swelling while providing a reduced recovery time.
Dr. Lee can use this technique to remove unwanted fat from a variety of areas, including the upper arms, buttocks, inner knees, torso region and underneath the chin.
An Overview of the Male Liposuction Procedure
Dr. Lee will use a small wand which is inserted through very short incisions created in inconspicuous areas. A special tumescent solution is injected, followed with the use of ultrasonic sound waves to liquefy the fat. Once the fat has been dissolved the wand removes the fat with suction.
What is the Recovery Time?
Most male liposuction patients are able to manage any pain or discomfort with oral medication and will return home wearing a compression garment which is worn for a time period spanning anywhere from a few days to a couple of weeks. Patients may shower 24 – 48 hours following their treatment. Most bruising and swelling will subside in seven to 10 days, while minor swelling will last for a few weeks to a month. Generally patients notice a final result in two to three months following surgery.
